How does one meet all the Asari at Dragon*con but misses the one Quarian to be found?

I can see straight ahead, but nothing on either side of me. I had a handler everywhere I went. =)

Yes- a black wig cap. I'm platinum blonde right now, so my hair shows through everything else!

Amazing work on this costume, I absolutely can't wait to see more photos. You did an outstanding job. I'm extremely curious - what is the breastplate made of, and how did you get such clean silver lines?? Also, the thin silver lines that aren't visible in this picture but that go down the ribcage and beside the legs - is that just a fabric paint?

Again, great work!!

Thank you so much! I'm beyond glad it turned out the way it did.

I'm scheduled to do a location shoot this weekend, so pics should go up starting next week. I'll also be able to link a more thorough Details page covering the materials involved and build as well. But for now:
The breastplate, as well as the other armor pieces are made out of black craft foam, and reinforced with wire in the curved areas to help maintain strength and shape. The texture was a bit of a happy accident, since I wasn't exactly sure how well latex house paint would do on foam. It took several layers, but after spraying on an acrylic clear coat it really came out looking like the armor material from the game. Still, it's glossier in photos than in-person IMO.
The large silver sections were marked off with masking tape, then painted with silver craft paint. If the tape is peeled just before the paint completely dries, it will not have fully solidified in/on the edges, and separates right at the tape line. The smaller stripes were done with a metallic fabric pen (Michael's carries them, and I would imagine most other craft stores do too). It took multiple coats of silver to really pop against the black base.

It is! Good eye.
I'm thinking that parade was a lot shorter than it felt!
