Oooh! Thank you for the tip! I'm seeing an (add) next to linear dodge?
The photographer has been working on the primary effects in this set of photos, but I do enough of my own touching up that I should really learn more. I will tinker with the settings a little and see what I come up with. Could you point me in the proper direction for the overlay you had in mind?
I just recently read about blending modes myself after for years I never really thought about it and just picked what seems to look best. At Wikipedia is a good explanation about different blending modes. After taking a look again on it, I am not sure anymore if it was the simple "add"... I have to correct myself. After now playing around with a photo for a moment, I would recommend Screen. In for example Photoshop that blending mode is named exactly that way. However it is up to you as the artist, which fits your taste best.
Thank you for looking further into it! I haven't worked with Photoshop for years, so part of it is remembering how to achieve effects, and the rest is learning new styles entirely. I will read up on it more, and try out a few different methods, if I can. A really luminescent glow is not something I've yet tried, so this will be interesting. Thanks again for the wonderful feedback!
